Built for trading weeks

Quiet Tuesday, late-night Thursday, all-hands Saturday.

A retail week is never flat, and December is a different sport entirely. Build the uneven week once, save it as a template, and when the Christmas casuals arrive, add them in bulk and scale the pattern up instead of starting from a blank grid in the busiest month of the year.

  • Save trading-week patterns as templates and reapply them
  • Copy last week and adjust for the catalogue launch or sale
  • Bulk add seasonal casuals or import them from CSV
  • Casuals keep availability current as uni timetables change
  • Clash warnings before you publish over unavailable time

Open shift filled

Saturday registers posted at 7:50am after a sick call, claimed by Marco at 8:04am, doors open at 9 with a full floor.

Open shifts and cover

A Saturday sick call is not a group-chat problem.

Texting six casuals one by one while you unlock the store is how Saturdays go sideways. Post the shift once as an open shift and everyone who can work sees it at the same time, claims it from their phone, and the roster updates the moment you approve.

Sick calls become open shifts the whole team can see
Approval stays with the manager, not the group chat
Casuals request cover through the roster when plans change
Everyone sees the final call the second it is made

Made in Australia, for Australian businesses.

RosterShare is built by an Australian team and rosters fashion boutiques, independent grocers, and specialty stores across the country. Billing follows your active staff count in AUD, so seasonal casuals stop costing money the day the season ends.

Stores, roles, and floaters

Registers, floor, stockroom, click and collect: covered.

Positions keep every part of the store visible on the roster, so you can see the registers are staffed for the sale before the week goes out. Run more than one store and each becomes a location: filter to one shop, or see a floater's whole week across both before you add another shift.

Auto Roster

Describe your week in plain English. AI drafts the roster.

"Two on registers all Saturday, Chloe on click and collect, Dev finishes by 6 on school nights." Auto Roster turns instructions like that into a draft week built around availability, time off, and positions, and the manager reviews every shift before anything is applied.

Time clock and timesheets

Actual hours from the shop floor, not from memory on Sunday.

Staff clock in on their own phone or on a tablet in the back office, breaks are timed, and every punch lands beside the rostered shift as a timesheet entry. Approve the week, see labour costs against hourly rates, and export a payroll-ready CSV.

Retail rostering FAQ

Common questions from store owners and managers.

Is RosterShare built for retail stores?

Yes. Retail weeks are lumpy: a quiet Tuesday, a late-night Thursday, and a Saturday that needs everyone. The roster grid handles uneven weeks, positions keep registers, floor, stockroom, and click and collect visible, and you can filter to one store when you run several.

How do casual staff see their roster?

Casuals see the latest published roster in their own account on any phone, with nothing to install. You can also notify them by SMS or email when the week is published or changes, share a read-only link, or print a copy for the back room.

What happens when someone calls in sick before Saturday open?

Post the shift as an open shift and every available casual sees it immediately, instead of you texting the group chat one name at a time. Keep manager approval on claims if you want the final say on who covers the registers.

Can I roster staff across more than one store?

Yes. Each store is a location, Pro has no limit on locations or staff, and staff who float between stores appear on one roster so you can see their whole week before adding another shift. Filter the grid to one store to check its coverage on its own.

Does RosterShare interpret the retail award?

No. RosterShare calculates labour costs as hourly rate times paid hours and exports approved timesheets as CSV, so award interpretation and penalty rates are applied by your payroll system or bookkeeper. If you need award interpretation inside the rostering tool, a larger platform will fit better.

Can I keep a record of rostered and worked hours?

Yes. Published rosters stay in your account, staff clock in from their phone or a tablet in the back office, and every punch becomes a timesheet entry beside the rostered shift. Approve the week and export the history to CSV whenever you need it.

What does it cost in Australia?

Everything is free for 14 days with no credit card. After the trial, Pro is from $3.99 AUD per staff member per month on annual billing ($4.99 AUD billed monthly). Billing follows your active staff count, so when the season ends and casuals are deactivated, the subscription drops with them.
